La lista de los premiados:
Alejandro Amenabar se llevó el Oscar a la mejor película extranjera por "Mar Adentro". Clint Eatswood el triunfador de la noche.
La ceremonia de la entrega de los premios Oscar en su edición número 77 fue presentada por la actriz mexicana Salma Hayek y el actor Chris Rock.
Una gala especialmente emocionante para el cine español,
Alejandro Amenábar tenía muy claro su objetivo: "Voy a luchar por el Oscar, es el premio definitivo para un cineasta, es un icono universal".
